Creating a Professional Portfolio

These last few weeks I have been attempting to create a professional portfolio.  The main problem that I have been finding is to attempt to try to find artifacts that would best show my growth within the MEIT program.  I wish my original blog had not been deleted, since I had done my best to use the blog as the beginning of my portfolio from the earliest classes.  Se la vie, I will be able to find the artifacts in my Google Docs.  I have been impressed with some of the sites of my classmates.  They are incredibly gifted.  There is a reason that I find that I learn more when I listen to them as well as the professor that is leading the class.

  1. I too struggled with finding good artifacts. Unlike you I was lucky to keep my original blog long term and still have it. However, I reached other troubles. I could only go back in Angel to class 525. I wish I was able to go all the way back to the beginning. I know that I have many good things from the beginning that will help show my growth. Were you able to access these things? If not, how did you find a different way to access the past?

  2. I was able to look through all of my GoogleDocs and most of my items were saved with a course number with them. The other thing that I did was look at other CEDo555 portfolios to see what others used for their portfolios.

  3. Mike---

I do remember you saying something about losing most of your blog postings a little while ago. I'm sure you've already thought of this (you're a lot more computer savvy than I am), but have you tried signing into just your gmail account. When I was having difficulty accessing my blog, I noticed that when I signed into jm9peterson@wolfmail.stritch.edu, I got nothing. However, when I tried jm9peterson@gmail.com (when signing into blogger), all of my old posts were present and accounted for. Like I said before, you've probably already tried this; or maybe something different happened, but I thought I'd throw it out there for you. I also agree with you that it has helped to look at other portfolios from our cohort. I think it works out nicely that some of our group projects that we've done in the past fit so many technological standards. If I hadn't looked at other portfolios I never would have realized this.

  4. Unfortunately, my blog was deleted and someone else has the site now.

  5. Amazing how it seems so logical now that we had to save assignments with course numbers on them! I have yet to work my way through my blog to remind me of assignments and my growth. That is a great suggestion!
